ManuMind Interventional Psychiatry offers Rejoyn, a prescription treatment for adults age 22+ with major depressive disorder (MDD) on antidepressant medication. Like physical therapy for your brain, over the course of 6 weeks, Rejoyn treats depression symptoms with proven brain-training exercises and short skills-based therapy lessons.
Brain-training exercises:
For some people with depression, the feeling part of the brain (the amygdala) and the thinking part of the brain (the prefrontal cortex) have trouble communicating.
When these parts aren’t communicating properly with one another, the brain struggles to process emotions. As negative emotions become more and more powerful, it can make people feel like they're spiraling.
The brain-training exercise in Rejoyn is designed to activate these parts of the brain at the same time.
The brain-training exercise in Rejoyn involves identifying and remembering emotions on a series of faces. When you identify the emotion, you activate the amygdala. When you remember the emotion of the previous face, you activate the prefrontal cortex. This may help to strengthen the connection between these brain regions so they’re able to communicate better. This may also help the brain process emotions and improve depression symptoms.
